6 youths arrested, nearly 3kg of cannabis seized in CNB operation

A total of six youths, aged between 18 and 20, were arrested for suspected drug offences during the evening of July 11.

The 18-year-old, a suspected drug trafficker, was arrested by officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

A total of 2,906g of cannabis was recovered from a backpack carried by the suspect, an amount that is enough to feed the addiction of about 420 abusers for a week.

Another party of CNB officers proceeded to raid the residence of another suspected drug trafficker, a 20-year-old Singaporean male.

The two suspects were also believed to have met earlier.

Four other suspected drug abusers, a 19-year-old and three 20-year-old Singaporean males, were also arrested within the unit.

The residence of the 18-year-old was subsequently raided, and CNB officers recovered a total of 45g of cannabis from the unit.

Investigations into the drug activities of all the suspects are ongoing.
