6 teens arrested for rioting at Jurong West

Six male teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, were arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting at Jurong West.

The police said in a statement they were alerted on Mar 12 at about 7.55pm to a fight involving a group of teenagers along Jurong West Central 2.

Officers from Jurong Police Division established the identities of the six teens and arrested them on Monday (Mar 16) at various locations in Singapore.

The six teenagers will be charged in court on Thursday (Mar 19) with rioting.

Anyone convicted for the offence of rioting may face a jail term of up to seven years and may also be caned.
