59-year-old motorcyclist dies from injuries after accident with bus in Jurong

A motorcyclist died in hospital after an accident with a bus at the junction of Corporation Road and Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim on Saturday afternoon (June 15).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 12.41pm.

The motorcyclist, a 59-year-old man, was unconscious when taken to the National University Hospital, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

Photos circulating on Facebook show the motorcyclist lying near a Tower Transit bus, which was in service at the time of the accident.

His motorcycle can also be seen lying underneath the bus.

Bus operator Tower Transit's group communications director Glenn Lim told The Straits Times that the bus captain has been relieved of his duties while investigations are ongoing.

The company is also assisting the traffic police with their investigations.
