5 taken to hospital after accident involving lorry and car at Cross Street junction

Five people were taken to hospital after a lorry and a car got into an accident at the junction of Cross Street and Cecil Street on Sunday (Sep 5).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 5.44pm.

Stomper Sabre Cruz shared a video that he took of the accident scene, in which a car can be seen on a pedestrian walkway.

He said: "The accident was between a Honda Vezel and a 14ft lorry. There were four ambulances at the scene."

Five people were conscious when taken to hospital, the police told Stomp.

They are a 58-year-old female car driver, her 60-year-old male passenger, and another three men aged between 28 and 34.

Police investigations are ongoing.
