5 arrested for rioting after 61-year-old man found unconscious and bleeding at void deck

Five men, aged between 21 and 41, have been arrested for rioting after allegedly attacking a 61-year-old man following a dispute.

The police were alerted to a case where a 61-year-old male victim was found unconscious and bleeding at the void deck of Block 9 North Bridge Road on Sunday (Nov 15), at around 9.50am.

The victim was subsequently taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Through investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Central Police Division established the identities of the five men and arrested them the following day (Nov 16).

"Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim is known to one of the men and they had purportedly attacked the victim due to a dispute," said the police.

The five men will be charged in court on Tuesday with rioting, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and caning.
