40-year-old man arrested for allegedly stealing lorry at Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre

The Police have arrested a 40-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of theft of a lorry.

On 21 June 2017 at about 9.50 am, the Police received a report from a 34-year-old victim informing that her company lorry that was parked at Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre had been stolen.

Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Clementi Police Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Pasir Panjang Road on 28 June 2017 at about 2.00 pm. 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 30 June 2017 with the offence of Theft of Motor Vehicle under Sec 379A of the Penal Code, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.

The Police would like to advise all vehicle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:
a) Park your vehicle in well-lit areas;
b) Install an anti-theft alarm for your vehicle;
c) Remove the ignition key and lock the vehicle, whenever it is left unattended
