4 injured after van and taxi collide at Toa Payoh flyover

Four people were injured in an accident that occurred at the Toa Payoh North flyover this morning (Sep 20).

Stomper Patricia was caught in a traffic jam because of the accident.

Patricia said the traffic was not moving and that buses were stuck in a single lane. She also saw commuters alighting and walking back towards the MRT station.

The Stomper ;was stuck for 10 minutes in a bus on the way to Ang Mo Kio and she saw two ambulances weave out of the jam at a later time.

According to The Straits Times, there was an accident involving a taxi and a van at the flyover which caused the traffic jam.

Two victims sustained minor injuries while the other two suffered abrasions and complained of facial and chest pains.

The Straits Times understands that three of the victims were the taxi driver and his two passengers.

Several roads were temporarily closed temporarily by the Traffic Police as the vehicles involved in the accident blocked the flyover in both directions.

Police investigations are ongoing.
