A 38-year-old woman was allegedly caught stealing vegetables from a stall at Block 102 Yishun Avenue 5 on Sunday (Jan 6).

A member of the public told Stomp that she was shopping for groceries in the Chong Pang area with her family at around 12pm, when she heard a loud commotion from the block.

She said: "There was a lot of shouting and vegetables were strewn all over the floor at the staircase landing. Next to the staircase landing is a shop selling vegetables.

"A man was repeatedly yelling at a woman in Mandarin, 'You shiok or not? Shiok or not? Did I not give you money?' He seemed very angry.

"I think the woman had taken something from the shop. She was hiding behind the staircase landing during the whole thing.

"Two police officers were at the scene.

"I also heard another woman, believed to be from the shop (pictured below), exclaiming about how there was no need to take her things because she will know about it."

A woman was heard saying that there was no need to take her things because she would find out.

Responding to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to a case of shop theft at 11.16am.
