30-year-old trainee teacher conquers Mount Everest

Singaporean mountain climber, Ms Nur Yusrina Ya'akob conquered Mount Everest on Monday (May 22).

The 30-year-old trainee teacher who is currently pursuing her postgraduate diploma in physical education at the National Institute of Education (NIE) started from the base camp on Apr 16.

This is her second attempt at climbing the infamous mountain after her dream was put on hold after the earthquake in 2015.

She is the first Malay-Muslim woman from Singapore to reach the world's highest summit.
