3 teens arrested for series of shop thefts at malls, clothing worth over $3k seized

Three male teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, were arrested for their suspected involvement in a series of shop theft cases.

Since May 2018, the police received several reports that apparels had been stolen from shops in shopping malls island-wide.

Officers from Clementi Police Division conducted ground enquiries and established the identities of the teenagers. They were subsequently arrested on Jun 28.

Apparels valued at more than $3000 were seized as exhibits.

Investigations against the teenagers are ongoing.

Anyone convicted for theft in dwelling with common intention under Section 380 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 can be jailed for up to seven years and fined.
