3 taken to hospital after Honda crashes into Geylang durian stall during 2-car accident at 3am

Three people were taken to hospital after an accident involving two cars occurred in Geylang during the wee hours of Saturday (Sep 8) at around 3am.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at the junction of Sims Avenue and Geylang Lorong 13 at 3.03am.

One man and two women aged between 21 and 25, all of whom were passengers, were conscious when taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Stomp understands that one car had been travelling on the second lane of a four-lane road when the other car exited from Geylang Lorong 13.

The first car then tried to brake but could not stop in time, thus resulting in the collision.

Photos that a reader sent to Lianhe Wanbao show how one of the cars, a white Honda, had crashed into a durian stall while a blue Mitsubishi was parked nearby.

Mr Lan said: "I was having supper with my friends opposite when I heard a 'bang' and went out to see what happened."

Two employees had been working at the back of the stall when the accident took place.

One of them told Wanbao that the stall did not suffer much losses, and all they had to do was to re-arrange the tables and fruits.

Police investigations are ongoing.
