She said: "I saw many police cars and fire engines in the carpark of Indus Road.

"Many bystanders and neighbours were gathered downstairs and looking up at the block.

"I heard glass shattering and a loud blast."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they responded to the fire at about 9.30pm.

"The fire was well alight and engulfed the living room, kitchen, and one bedroom. No one was at home at the time of the fire," said the SCDF.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using two water jets. 150 residents evacuated with the assistance of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and SCDF, and three residents were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital due to smoke inhalation.

"The cause of fire is under investigation."
