A 29-year-old man was arrested on Monday (June 10) for his suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery along Lorong 22 Geylang.
The police said in a statement they received a report on June 9 at about 10.50pm that a man had robbed a 30-year-old woman with a knife. A handphone and cash amounting to more than $2,000 were stolen.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of closed-circuit television (CCTV), officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him along Rangoon Road on June 10 at 4.30am.
The man will be charged in court today (June 11) with armed robbery.
If convicted, he will be punished with ia jail term of three to 14 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
