25-year-old man arrested for allegedly molesting woman on train at Bishan

The police have arrested a 25-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.

On Oct 11 at about 8.30 am, a 25-year-old woman informed the police that she had been molested by a man while travelling onboard the train at Bishan MRT station.

Following the report, officers from Tanglin Police Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and arrested the man along Tampines Street 12 yesterday (23 Nov).

Investigations against the man are ongoing.

Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 2 years, or with fine or with caning, or with a combination of such punishments.
