24-year-old motorcyclist dies in accident at Loyang Avenue junction, car driver arrested

A 24-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident with a car at the junction of Loyang Avenue and Cranwell Road on early Thursday morning (Mar 9).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 12.28am.

The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

"The 57-year-old male car driver was arrested for careless driving causing death," said the police, adding that investigations are ongoing.

A taxi driver told Shin Min Daily News that he saw a police tent when he passed by the accident scene at around 3am.

A photo published by the Chinese-language news outlet shows a damaged motorcycle next to the tent and debris strewn all over the road.
