2 women arrested in anti-vice operations at massage parlours

Two women, aged 26 and 32, were arrested for offences under the Women's Charter after operations carried out by police officers on Sep 5 and 6.

The operations were conducted against massage parlours and vice activities in Balestier, Outram and Robertson Quay by officers from Tanglin Division.

During the operations, one licensed massage establishment was found to have contravened licensing conditions while another was operating without a license.

The police will continue to take a tough enforcement stand towards unlicensed massage parlours, as well as licensed massage parlours who do not comply with licensing conditions.

Landlords and hotel owners are advised to not allow any of their tenants to conduct vice activities within their premises.

For operating an unlicensed brothel, operators can be fined up to $10,000 and/or up to five years' imprisonment.

A person who lives wholly or in part of another person's prostitution services earnings can also be fined up to $10,000 and risk being jailed for up to five years.
