2 taken to hospital after taxi causes chain collision involving 2 other cars in MCE tunnel

Two people were taken to hospital after a chain collision involving a taxi and two cars in the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) tunnel on Friday evening (June 4).

The police were alerted to the accident along MCE towards Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) at 7.55pm, they told Stomp in response to queries.

Stomper Jian Lye shared a video that shows the crash occurring on the rightmost lane in the tunnel.

In the video, a taxi can be seen ramming into a black car, which then hits another car in front due to the impact.

A 56-year-old male driver and a 26-year-old female passenger were conscious when taken to hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
