A man and a woman were taken to hospital after a car accident at Bendemeer Road on Wednesday afternoon (Feb 15).

Sharing videos of the scene after the accident, Stomper Marco said the two people were knocked down by a car.

The videos show a woman lying on the road and a man sitting on the side of the road nearby.

The woman was later loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher with someone holding an umbrella to shelter her as it had started to rain. The man was still sitting on the side of the busy road but now with an umbrella.

He can later be seen on a stretcher at the back of another ambulance.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 3.25pm.

SCDF took one person to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the other to Raffles Hospital.

When contacted by Stomp, the police said a 51-year-old male pedestrian and a 65-year-old female pedestrian were conscious when they were taken to the hospital.

The police added that the 55-year-old car driver is assisting with investigations, which are ongoing.
