2 men investigated for causing public alarm over video of man holding toy gun

Two men are being investigated for causing public alarm after a video was uploaded online of a man holding an object resembling a shotgun.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the object was a toy gun.

The police were informed of the video on Saturday (June 4) at 10.12am.

Through ground enquiries and follow-up investigations, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and Woodlands Police Division established the identities of the 19-year-old man in the video and the 21-year-old man who posted the video.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Those who cause public alarm are liable for an offence punishable under Section 4(2) of the Protection from Harassment Act 2014.
