The police are investigating a dispute that arose between a taxi driver and his passenger at Balestier Road just past midnight on Wednesday (Nov 28).
In response to a Stomp media query, the police said they were alerted to a case of affray at about 12.30am.
Stomp understands that the scuffle arose after the passenger alighted without paying the taxi fare.
The cabby exited the vehicle to ask for payment before the dispute arose.
The passenger was believed to be drunk and smelled strongly of alcohol.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Two men were caught on video pushing and throwing punches at each other along Balestier Road.
Stomper Lau and another Stomper alerted Stomp to the video that has been circulating on WhatsApp.
From landmarks and signs seen in the video, the incident occurred outside 255 Balestier Road, near Fragrance Hotel - Balestier. However, it is unclear when this happened.
In the footage, the men are seen shouting and gesturing at one another next to a taxi that is parked by the side of the road.

Matters escalate when the man wearing a white shirt starts to walk away before he is hit from behind by the guy wearing black.
When the man in white, who appears to be a cabby, tries to open the driver's side door of the taxi, the man in black pulls him back.
The cabby then pushes him away, causing the man in black to fall to the ground.
More punches and kicks are exchanged before the cabby is then pushed to the ground and repeatedly punched by the man in black, causing his spectacles to fall off.
The man in black then goes around and takes something from the back seat of the vehicle before walking away.
The cabby is later seen walking away in the same direction before the video ends.
It is unclear what caused the altercation but at one point in the video, an onlooker shouts, "Mabok!" or "Drunk!" in Malay.
