Two men, aged 33 and 34, were arrested for cheating a man while pretending to be National Environment Agency (NEA) officers at Geylang.
The police said in a statement that they were alerted on Jan 21 at about 11pm to a case where a man was being cheated by two unknown men who claimed to be NEA officers along Lorong 8 Geylang.
Officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them on Jan 22.
They will be charged in court on Jan 23 for cheating by impersonation with common intention.
If found guilty, they shall each be punished with a jail term of up to five years, or with a fine, or both.
