2 men arrested for allegedly stealing from Jalan Tambur temple, cash of $11,900 recovered

Two men, aged 33 and 43, were arrested on Wednesday (Dec 28) for allegedly stealing from a temple located along Jalan Tambur.

The police said they were alerted to the theft on December 22, at around 5.20pm.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Division established the identities of the men and arrested them along Lorong 14 Geylang.

The men are also believed to have been involved in other similar cases of theft islandwide in December 2022.

Cash of about $11,900 and the tools which the men were believed to have used in the thefts were also recovered as case exhibits.

The men will be charged in court on Thursday for the offence of theft in dwelling, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
