2 men, aged 19 and 52, arrested after assaulting victim and robbing him of wallet, phone in Tampines

Two men, aged 19 and 52, have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of robbery with hurt.

The police said in a statement on Thursday (Sept 7) that they were alerted to the incident on Wednesday (Sept 6) at about 12.45am.

Preliminary investigations revealed the two men had allegedly assaulted the victim and robbed him of his wallet and phone along Tampines Street 22.

The victim sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.

Officers established the identities of the two men and arrested them within 13 hours of the report.

The stolen mobile phone and more than $630 in cash were recovered.

The offence of robbery with hurt carries a jail term of between five and twenty years and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
