2 arrested for allegedly stealing about $1,400 worth of copper wires from Geylang construction site

Two men, aged 31 and 38, have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of copper wires along Lorong 23 Geylang.

On Sunday (Sep 16), the police received a report on a case of theft at a construction site along Lorong 23 Geylang where copper wires amounting to about $1,400 were stolen.

Through follow-up investigations and images from closed-circuit television, officers from Bedok Police Division identified the two men and arrested them in the vicinity of Geylang.   

The men will be charged in court on Saturday (Sep 21) 21 September 2019 for theft with common intention. 

If convicted, they will face a jail term of up to three years and a fine.
