16-year-old arrested for robbing $230 from 7-Eleven store in Yishun with knife

A 16-year-old male suspect has been arrested for allegedly robbing a store at Yishun Avenue 5 of $230 while armed with a knife.

The incident occurred at around 10.55pm on June 19, at a shore understood to be a 7-Eleven outlet in Chong Pang.

The teenager robbed a 22-year-old employee of $230 in cash, said the Police in a news release.

After the victim made a police report, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and arrested the suspect on June 21 at Yishun Central.

The suspect will be charged in Court today (June 23) for an offence of armed robbery.

If convicted, he faces a jail term of not less than five years and not more than 20 years, and will be liable to at least 12 strokes of the cane.
