14 women who advertised sexual services on various social platforms arrested

Fourteen women, aged between 20 to 52, were arrested during a series of enforcement operations against vice activities that were conducted on Sep 7 and 8.

The raids were conducted by Central Police Division along Jalan Besar, Eu Tong Sen Street, Temple Street, Albert Street, Jalan Sultan and Smith Street.

The 14 women were nabbed for offences under the Women’s Charter.

Stomp understands that they are Brazilians, Filipinos, Chinese and Indians.

They were operating from hotels and rented apartments and had advertised their services through various social platforms, said the police in a news release on Monday (Sep 10).

A 33-year-old man was also arrested under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

"The police will spare no effort in clamping down and take tough enforcement action on vice activities," they added in their statement.

"Those found engaging in illicit activities will be dealt with sternly in accordance to the law."
