While some students practice heart-stopping parkour moves, Stomper Jeremy and his friend decided to pick up litter at Sembawang Park.

The two 13-year-old boys visited the beach on Wednesday (Oct 2), at around 11am, and spent around one hour picking up trash.

Jeremy, who shared a picture of the rubbish that he and his friend collected, said: "It's my first time doing something like this.

"We decided to do this because we care for the environment.

"It felt good."

You might have noticed an influx of rubbish on our beaches in recent months. This is due to offshore detritus that drifts onto Singapore's shores during the south-west monsoon from May to October.

The beaches are then cleaned more often during this period, up to twice a day instead of four times a week.
