12 women arrested in enforcement operation against massage parlours and public entertainment outlets

Twelve women, aged between 22 and 33, were arrested during a series of enforcement operations conducted against massage parlours and public entertainment outlets from Apr 12 to 13, the police said in a news release.

The enforcement operations were conducted by Central Police Division at Tanjong Pagar Plaza, Middle Road, Telok Blangah Crescent and South Bridge Road.

During the operations, one unlicenced massage establishment was detected and another was found to have contravened licensing conditions.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested for offences under the Women's Charter.

A public entertainment outlet was also found to have contravened licensing conditions.

Eleven women were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Actions will be taken against operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Massage Establishment Act and Public Entertainment Act.

The police said they take a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
