One person was taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a unit at Block 922 Tampines Street 91 on Thursday evening (Oct 15).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the fire at around 7.15pm.

The fire involved contents of a bedroom of a unit on the fifth floor and was extinguished by members of the public using buckets of water prior to the arrival of the SCDF.

Stomper Roger, who shared a photo showing SCDF officers and vehicles at the scene, said he saw someone being examined by paramedics.

An SCDF spokesman told Stomp that it conveyed one person to Changi General Hospital.

Another person was assessed for smoke inhalation but subsequently refused conveyance to the hospital.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
