1 injured after trailer truck runs red light, nearly hits bikers and rams into car at Pioneer Rd junction

One person was injured after a trailer truck crashed into a car at the junction of Jalan Buroh and Pioneer Road on Wednesday (April 25).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp that it was alerted to the accident at 9.15am.

"One person was conscious when conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital," an SCDF spokesman said.

A video of the incident was posted on Roads.sg's Facebook page, showing the trailer truck apparently running a red light at the junction.

A group of motorcyclists narrowly avoided getting hit before the truck crashed into the car.

Stomp has contacted the police for more information.

This comes after a recent spate of fatal road accidents.

Last Thursday evening (April 19), Kathy Ong, a National University of Singapore (NUS) undergraduate was killed after the taxi she was travelling in with three others collided with a car at the junction of Clementi Road and Commonwealth Avenue West.

A 23-year-old woman died on Sunday (April 22) after the Mercedes-Benz she was in collided with an SMRT bus in Bukit Timah.

On Monday (April 23) three pedestrians were killed after a lorry mounted a kerb and ploughed into them near Yio Chu Kang MRT Station.
