Coldplay fans who missed out on tickets to the band's upcoming shows in Singapore, which sold out quickly, might want to consider flying to Taiwan for their concerts there.

In an unusual move, local agency Sistic is selling tickets to the shows at Taiwan's HSR Taoyuan Station Plaza on April 11. The tickets in Taiwan cost $350 and $300 each. All tickets to the April 12 show at the same venue were sold out within an hour of going on sale in November (2016).

According to a spokesman for concert promoter Live Nation Taiwan, there is "still demand from the (Singapore) market", so a limited number of tickets to the Taiwan show were made available on Sistic for fans here from March 17.

The Coldplay concert is the first time Live Nation Taiwan is selling Taiwanese concert tickets on Sistic, although the ticketing agency also sells tickets to events in Malaysia. Live Nation Taiwan is headed by a Singaporean, Mr Ngiam Kwang Hwa, who is also managing director of concert promoters One Production and record label Rock Records.

The 100,000 tickets to Coldplay's March 31 and April 1 shows in Singapore at the National Stadium were snapped up quickly after they went on sale in November last year.

While tickets sold through the official channel, Sports Hub Tix, were priced between $78 and $298, scalpers resold them at inflated prices.

The organisers of the Singapore show, Live Nation Lushington, have said that they will void the tickets resold by the scalpers.

The upcoming shows will be the band's fourth time performing in Singapore.
