Fuzhou Zoo trainer suspended after kicking bear in front of audience

Visitors at the Fuzhou Zoo were left fuming after trainer kicked a black bear that did not perform a series of stunts during a performance.

One of the audience members filmed the abuse and posted the clip online, reports Shanghaiist.

In the viral clip, the trainer tries to lead the bear through an obstacle course, which has hurdles for the animal to clear.

However, the bear simply knocked the hurdles down instead of stepping over them, at which point the trainer delivers a kick to its midsection.

The man who recorded the video said that people in the crowd yelled at the trainer to not hit the bear.

The trainer also threw the bear's food to the ground in frustration after getting it to do several other stunts.

The uproar caused by the clip has resulted in both the trainer and the show being suspended.
