Dear taxi driver, the expressway road shoulder is not an overtaking lane

Motorist James Poon was driving along East Coast Parkway (ECP) road towards the airport when he encountered a taxi driver speading ahead on the road shoulder to overtake vehicles in front. 

James then shared a clip of this incident on Roads.sg Facebook page.

The video below shows the driver of the silver white taxi speeding past on the road shoulder, before recklessly cutting lanes to overtake other motorists.

The video caption reads:

"Taxi driver of SHC6892S, the road making 'SH' is SHOULDER and not 'Singapore Hire' for taxi use.

"Driving on road shoulder - $150 fine and 6 demerit points.

"Speeding - $130 fine and 4 demerit points.
