A 20-year-old biker was thrown off his motorcycle after crashing into the rear of a car in an accident involving four vehicles on the KPE at around 9.30am on July 4.
In a video of the crash that was posted on ROADS.sg, the motorcyclist can first be seen riding on the right-most lane of the expressway.
Two car drivers a few metres in front of him then jammed on the brakes, possibly to avoid hitting a stationary or slow-moving vehicle further down the road.
The motorcyclist however, could not stop in time and crashed at a rather high speed into the rear of a car.
He was thrown off the motorcycle and fell on the road. The impact caused his helmet to be dislodged from his head. Parts of his vehicle were strewn on the expressway.
The motorcyclist was conscious, but in a daze, after the crash. One of the car drivers then went to check on him.
Said a Police spokesman in response to a Stomp query:
"On 4 July 2017 at around 9.43am, the Police were alerted to an accident involving three cars and one motorcycle along the KPE towards MCE.
"A 20-year-old motorcyclist was conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital.
"Police investigations are ongoing."
