Stomper Daniel was tucking into a plate of mixed rice he bought from a stall at Kopitiam Square in Sengkang on May 1 when he found an rusty nail in his food.

In a telephone interview, the Stomper said that the nail was around 2cm long and was bent.

Following the discovery, he reported what happened to Kopitiam and the NEA.

Responding to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for Kopitiam said:

"We have contacted the contributor and he has accepted our apology and rectification measures on the matter.

"We have issued a warning letter to the stall holder and we will step up on hygiene checks at the stall."
