Hmm... why did Mitsubishi driver jam on the brakes for no reason, causing accident?

A driver abruptly stopped his Mitsubishi along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6, causing another motorist to hit the rear of his car.

The incident was captured on a driver's dashboard camera and the video was posted on Beh Chia Lor - Singapore Road. According to a timestamp on the video, the collision took place on Apr 19 at around 12.13pm.

At the beginning of the video, the driver who recorded the video can be seen travelling along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 before turning into Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.

He or she slowed down at the junction to give way to a Mitsubishi driver who was making a U-turn, and continued driving behind the Mitsubishi thereafter.

Shortly after making the U-turn, the Mitsubishi driver suddenly pressed on his brakes in the middle of the road, causing the other driver to hit the rear of his vehicle.

There were no vehicles in front of the Mitsubishi at that point of time, raising questions as to why the driver stopped his car so suddenly for no apparent reason.

The Mitsubishi driver later confronted the driver who recorded the video. He then took out a pen and a notebook from his pockets and starting jotting down details of the vehicle that hit his car.

The video ends after that.
