'Fresh Off The Boat' star Constance Wu reportedly lands role in film exploring lives of S'pore's wealthiest

Sitcom ‘Fresh Off The Boat’ actress Constance Wu is in talks to star in the film adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s best-selling novel, ‘Crazy Rich Asians’.

The novel explores the lives of the wealthiest in Singapore, and Wu is reportedly in the lead to land the role of Rachel Chu, a Chinese-American economics professor who spends a summer with her boyfriend Nicholas at his Singapore home -- not knowing that he comes from one of the wealthiest families there, reports The Straits Times.  

No announcements have been made on who will play the other characters. but many aspirant actors and actresses have been flooding the social media with audition videos in a bid to land a role in the highly anticipated film directed by American film-maker Jon M.Chu.

The movie will be produced by Color Force, the company behind the hit franchise ‘The Hunger Games’ and will feature a mostly Asian cast.
