Female passenger scolds Grab driver after he asks her out -- but was it all a misunderstanding?

A woman gave a Grab driver a piece of her mind after he apparently tried to ask her out for coffee or dinner.

The guy, who is most likely a GrabHitch driver, contacted the female passenger to ask if she was okay with changing the time of her pick-up to ComfortDelGro Driving Centre to 4.45pm.

She then informed him that her driving lesson startedĀ at 5 and that she would preferĀ to reach earlier "for coffee and stuffs if [you] don't mind".

The driver then asks, "You ok to have coffee with me? Or a meal together?"

She then calls him "creepy" and blows him off.

She wrote:

"If [you are] just taking up hitches to get to know girls, please. Try harder. Or probably [you] can consider paying for matchmaking agencies or maybe try the cheapo way, use Tinder. Making use of GrabHitch for a wrong objective is super disturbing. [You] are just wasting everyone's time. Stop being a cheapo nana seriously."

Sceenshots of the texts were posted on Alvinology Media where netizens are divided on whether the driver deserved the scolding or if the lady was overreacting.

Some believed that the way the way the girl phrased her need to get coffee could have been misinterpreted as an invitation.

Others said that he might have been mistaken but by continuing to ask her questions, it is understandable why she raised her defences.

What do you think?
