Stompers Sravan and Edwin alerted Stomp to an accident that occurred last night (Apr 10) which left a driver trapped in a Sembcorp garbage truck, dangling precariously over a third-floor railing of an incineration complex in Senoko.

In the photos the Stompers contributed, the man can be seen trapped in the front car of a garbage truck. Personnel from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and what appears to be an SCDF vehicle can also be seen on the road at the base of the building.

An SCDF spokesperson told Stomp that they received a call at about 7.20pm for a driver that was trapped in a garbage truck on the third-level ramp of an incineration complex at 30 Attap Road.

As the truck was slightly over the edge, the man had to be rescued using an aerial rescue platform, the spokesperson said.

The man was subsequently conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Responding to The Straits Times, a Sembwaste spokesperson confirmed that an incident involving one of its trucks occurred at Attap Valley Road last night.

The spokesperson said: "No one was injured in the incident, however the driver was conveyed to the hospital for observation.

"Safety is very important to Sembwaste.

"At this point it is not clear how the incident occurred. We are investigating the matter and will be working with the authorities in this regard as well."
