Driver sent to hospital after car catches fire at Woodlands Drive 50

A 24-year-old male driver was injured after a car caught fire along Woodlands Drive 50 yesterday evening (May 19).

He suffered neck and shoulder pains, and was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Stompers Kannan, Joseph, Joel and Amoz sent Stomp photos and videos of the scene, including a clip that showed the vehicle going up in flames.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the incident at 7.11pm and dispatched two fire bikes, one fire engine, one Red Rhino, and an ambulance to the scene.

The fire involved the car's engine compartment and was extinguished with a water jet in ten minutes.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
