Cheapskate passenger with infant tells Grab driver to cancel booking so she won't get penalised

A Grab driver working in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday (Apr 9) had a bad start to his day when he arrived at Compassvale Crescent to pick up passengers.

In a Facebook post by Mi Hok Suk, the Grab driver said that the passengers included a woman who was carrying an infant, and three other children under the height of 1.35m.

In the video posted on the Singapore Uncensored Facebook page, he can be heard telling the woman:

"You have so many children. I cannot drive you.

"By right, we cannot fetch children below the height of 1.35m if we don't have a child seat."

The woman then replies:

"Then you cancel the booking lor. If I cancel I will incur a penalty."

An argument ensued, but the Grab driver said that the woman's friend eventually cancelled the booking.

In his Facebook post, he said:

"Compassvale to Tanglin Halt in the middle of the night, is there a high chance that I'll encounter a road block? That was the main thing on my mind."

Grab has a $2 penalty on passengers who cancel more than 10 rides a week. The penalty will be imposed on the 11th cancellation.
