Stomper Ah Soon was along Sims Avenue at around 6pm yesterday (Apr 24) when he saw a man fall from the fifth storey of Yi Xiu Factory Building.

Said the Stomper:

"I was just passing by the building when I saw an aircon technician fall from the fifth level onto the metal roof of the first floor.

"He was not wearing any safety harness and he could not move after the fall.

"Passersby who witnessed the incident were in a state of shock and panic.

"Some workers called the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police, and I saw some SCDF officers abseil down the building to tend to him.

 An SCDF spokesperson told Stomp:

"Upon SCDF's arrival, a male Chinese in his thirties was found lying on the second level parapet.

"SCDF rescued the man using an aerial rescue platform. Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team officers were also deployed and a lifepack was set up as a precautionary measure.
