Stomper Vernon was driving along the area of Loyang Villas at Loyang Avenue at about 7.30am on Monday (Jul 9) when he came across a helper standing on a two-storey high rooftop to clean windows.

In photos shared by Vernon, a woman is seen standing dangerously on the rooftop of the second level without any safety equipment, while cleaning windows that are about the same height as her.

Vernon said his car had stopped at a red light hence he told his helper to take photos of the woman cleaning.

He said: "This is a very precarious way to clean windows.

"What if she drops down from the roof?

"Such an unsafe act must be stopped to prevent potentially serious injuries or even the loss of one’s life."

Vernon suggested the woman to use a stick of some sort to clean the windows instead, a way that does not involve her standing on the rooftop.

"Or just don't clean la," he added with a laugh.

In response to a Stomp query, Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said that it has been alerted to the case and investigations are ongoing.

“We encourage members of the public who have information involving foreign domestic workers (FDWs) working in unsafe conditions to report the matter directly with MOM," said the spokesman.

"They can write to MOM at mom_fmmd@mom.gov.sg or call 6438 5122 to report the matter.”
