Woman, 29, arrested for loansharking activities after bike locks used to secure Ghim Moh Road unit

A 29-year-old woman was arrested for her suspected involvement in loansharking activities, after the police received a report on March 3 that bicycle locks had been used to lock up a residential unit along Ghim Moh Road.

Officers from Clementi Police Division established the suspect's identity through extensive ground enquiries and viewing of images from police cameras (PolCams) as well as CCTV footages.

She was arrested at New Bridge Road on March 8 at around 1pm.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect could also be involved in carrying out acts of loanshark harassments in Clementi and Jurong West housing estates, said the police in a news release.

She will be charged in court today (March 10).
