Look out before reversing! Monitor lizard rests behind truck along Senoko Way

Stomper Wee spotted a monitor lizard lurking behind a truck's wheel yesterday (July 2).

According to the Stomper, he spotted it along 29 Senoko Way at around 1.40pm.

The most common monitor lizard among the three found in Singapore is the Malayan water monitor (Varanus salvator) that can grow up to 3 metres long.

According to the NParks website, they are naturally shy and would rather stay away from humans. Like most wild animals, they do not attack unless provoked. As long as you keep your distance and leave them alone, you will be fine.
