Some were on motorcycles while others were walking, but they all have one thing in common - national pride.

While on holiday in Vietnam, a Stomp journalist witnessed football fans taking to the streets to celebrate their country's victory over Qatar.

For the Vietnamese, this victory is seen as a big win as they have managed to clinch a place in the finals of the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship.

The Stomp journalist captured the sight of football fans taking to the streets, waving their country's flag and cheering loudly.

According to Vietnamese news website VNExpress, the win is also significant as Vietnam became the first Southeast Asian country to enter the final of the championship.

The report by the news agency added that Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc personally called the team to congratulate them, saying this historic win is very meaningful for the country.
