Subway stations in North Korea: They're nothing like what you'd expect

"Beauty" is not a word commonly associated with North Korea.

Photographs of their subway stations however might just change the way you look at the 'hermit kingdom'.

According to Acid Cow, North Korea recently opened up some new subway stations to foreigners and photographer Elliot Davis traveled to Pyongyang, to ride both branches of the local subway.

The website also described the stations as 'clean' and some of them even have chandeliers on the ceiling.
