Chinese American restaurant owner grabs gun away from robber and gets a shock when she finds out it's real

A brave restaurant owner decided to risk her life and safety to grab a gun out of a robber's hand in order to save her hard-earned money.

According to Shanghaiist, the owner, Keqiu Wang, from Norfolk, Virginia was behind the cash register when an armed robber burst into her restaurant and demanded for all her money.

Wang told the local news that because the robber had not bothered to cover his face and that his gun looked old, she believed that it was a fake and had no qualms about seizing it from him.

A surveillance camera had captured the incident and showed her husband rushing out of the kitchen with a cleaver to help his wife.

While they were struggling over the gun, he left two deep cuts in the robber's shoulder before he fled the shop.

Wanting to see if it was real, Wang pointed the gun at the floor, pulled the trigger and was shocked when it actually went off.

The robber was eventually caught by police and taken to hospital before being placed into custody for robbery, attempted robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
