Trio arrested for stealing casino chips from patrons in MBS, $23,000 in cash also seized

Three Filipino men aged between 32 and 54 years old were arrested on Wednesday (Jan 17) for their alleged involvement in the theft of casino chops from patterns at the Marina Bay Sands Casino.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the three of them had colluded to steal the chips from unsuspecting patrons at the gaming tables since Jan 13, 2018.

The police also confirmed that it seized $23,000 in cash from the trio, along with the stolen chips.

They will be charged in court on Friday (Jan 19) for the offence of Abetment by Conspiracy to Commit Theft.

If found guilty, they face up to 3 years’ jail each, with a fine, or both.
