A video circulating online shows a resident hurling a vulgar remark at a sales representative from StarHub who approached him at his door at an HDB block.

It is unclear when and where exactly the incident occurred.

The video appeared to have been filmed by the resident himself and was later posted on Facebook by a user.

The original post has since been deleted but several Stompers shared the video with Stomp and expressed their outrage over how the employee was treated.

In the clip, the sales rep can be heard telling the resident that he was here to "check on home Internet services" and identified himself as being from the "residential team for StarHub".

The conversation led to the resident saying, "I do not appreciate that" followed by "so **** off" just as the sales rep responded "bye bye" and walked away from the door.

In response to media queries by Stomp, Ms Yvonne Lee, Head of Consumer & Channel Sales at StarHub said: “We commend the staff of our authorised channel sales partner for remaining calm in spite of the verbal abuse he faced.

"While customer satisfaction is our priority, we also respect and value the well-being of our staff and that of our partner agents.

"We do not condone aggressive or abusive behaviour and where needed, we will seek police assistance to protect our staff from unjustified aggression and abuse."
